Politiken
On October the 1st 1884, Dagbladet Politiken was founded in Copenhagen by Viggo Hørup,
Edvard Brandes and Hermann Bing. The circulation amounted to 2.000 copies a day,
each at the price of 0.01 Euro.
On January the 1st 2003 the corporation merged with Jyllands-Posten and from the same date Politiken, Ekstra Bladet and Jyllands-Posten are published by JP/Politikens Hus Ltd. The principal goals of the foundation is the acquisition and possession of shares in the corporation Dagbladet Politiken thus securing the continuance of the daily Newspaper Politiken and its affiliated companies and enterprises in a healthy manner for business and finances. Another goal of the foundation is the securing of Dagbladet Politiken being managed as independent, Radical-Liberal and Social-Liberal organs of Danish liberalism in full accordance with the traditions of Politiken.
Lo-skolen
Centre for conferences and adult educationLo-skolen is an educational institution with close ties to the Danish labour movement. It is a modern and flexible centre for conferences and seminars. It has 18,500 square metres, two hundred bedrooms, all with individual phones, showers and toilets. Ninety of these can accommodate two persons. The college offers a wide variety of training courses for trade union members within the framework of the Danish LO (TUC) education system. The college takes on development of tailor-made training for private or public enterprises as well as local unions and has, with around fifteen full time tutors, the potential to lift almost any task in adult education. Lo-skolen is also widely used for Danish and international seminars and conferences of all kinds. The college is beautifully situated in a park by the sea. From the college you will find there's an excellent view of the sea, and the surrounding woods and golf courses. The college is in itself a piece of art, originally designed by Danish architects Jarl Heger and Ebbe and Karen Clemmensen in 1969. The same architects have carried out all later reconstruction so that the design of the whole institution, from the general concept, the ceilings of large rooms and down to details such as chairs and lamps, has the same mark of quality and taste.
DSUS
The aim of DSUS is to support international chess tournaments in Denmark, as well as other purposes the board finds beneficial for Danish chess internationally. Including young players participation in tournaments. DSUS has been supporting practically every international tournament in Denmark since the founding of the association in 1963. We are often an indispensable part of the necessary financial backing behind Danish tournaments. DSUS is also helping and advising Danish tournament organizers in their efforts to make better tournaments.www.dsus.dk
DSU
Danish Chess Federation was founded in 1903, after a slow start with only a couple
of chess clubs, the federation today consist of more than 210 clubs.The goal of the Danish Chess Federation is to spread the knowledge of chess to as many people as possible,to increase the strength of Danish chessplayers and finally help create social contacts between all chessplayers. This is accomplished by different channels, one is the Federations homepage www.dsu.dk , similar important is "skakbladet", a publication received by all Danish chessplayers, the magazine is published 8-9 times yearly.

Danish chess shop is completly owned by the Danish Chess Federation, the goal is
to provide Danish chessplayers with actual, relevant and affordable chess materials.The profit generated by the chess shop is used for the good of all Danish chessplayers. |
